Following the re-organisation of the Scottish Mens Area Team Championships in 2022, the competition has moved away from a one weekend event, qualifying has now reverted to the Round Robin Groups and in 2023 Lothians were entertained by Renfrewshire at Kilmacolm Golf Club on 7th May, hosted Borders at West Lothian Golf Club on 4th June and played Stirlingshire at Craigielaw Golf Club on Sunday, 9th July.
The Lothians Team lead their qualifying section and travelled to Paisley Golf Club on Saturday 2nd September and Sunday 3rd September where they came out victorious after matches against Lanarkshire and Ayrshire.
In addition to the SATC, the Lothians undertake a number of representative matches against other Area Associations throughout the year. The team is normally made up of eight players selected by the Team Manager from Clubs across the whole of the Lothians.
The match is normally four foursome matches in the morning followed by eight singles matches in the afternoon with a point given for a win and a half point for an all square match after 18 holes.
Matches are played against Northumberland, Stirlingshire, Borders, Renfrewshire, Fife and Angus leading up to the Scottish Area Team Tournament in September each year.
