Scottish Men's Area Team Championships

MATCHPLAY

A good display from the Lothians players seen them beat a strong Stirlingshire team in the morning Quarter Final tie. Good performances all round by the lads seen the team win 4 - 1 to take them into the Semi Final against lead qualifyers FIfe. In the afternoon, the morning form was still in evidence and the Lothians players knew they needed a big performance to take the 'Home' team on. Once again performance was high and it all came down to the last two matches with Lothians only needing to win one to see them through.

Sadly it was not to be as we lost both matches narrowly and ran out 3 - 2 in defeat, however, the team can hold their head high in what was a good weekend of performance. Fife now take on Ayrshire in the Final match over 36 holes. with the first match scheduled for 8.00am. We wish both teams every success.

QUALIFYING

The Lothians Men's team have successfully qualified in the Area Team championships at Leven Links and the Scoonie Courses in Fife.

The team finished 10 shots off the leaders Fife on 704 in the two round qualifying. Conditions were at times difficult particularly when the wind got up in the afternoon.

Our team of, Stuart McLaren, Mark Napier, Connor Wilson, Kenny Glen, Allyn Dick and Sean Marc head into the quarter finals against Stirlingshire who finished 5th on the same score as us and should prove to be stern opposition for the lads on Saturday morning over the Leven Links course.
