On a dry, relatively warm, day at Kirkcaldy Golf Club the postponed second round of winter league matches were completed on Sunday. Match 1 was won by Fife against West Lothian by three games to two and Match 2 was won by East Lothian against Midlothian by four games to one.
The East Lothian v Midlothian was much closer than it seems with birdies and eagles in abundance. Indeed, three of the matches finished 1 Up all in favour of East Lothian whereas in the Fife v West Lothian match each side won a game by 1 Up. The course was in good condition for the time of year and I think the players all enjoyed the challenge and of course the bacon rolls and hot soup and sandwiches afterwards. The next match will be held on Sunday 8 February 2026 and the Fife venue is Burntisland GC starting at 9.45am.
