CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING RESULTS and MATCH PLAY DRAW

Following two rounds of excellent golf at Duddingston, we can now confirm the draw for the Matchplay Stages of the competition. It was Craig Davidson of Longniddry that took the Stuart Cup for the leading qualifier by virtue of the better inward half over fellow Lothians player, Barrie Lewis of West Lothian. Craig recorded two rounds of 69 for a 138 total.

This starts on Tuesday, 22nd July with the round of 16, followed by the round of 8 on Thursday, 24 July with the Semi Final and Final all taking place on Saturday, 26th July.

The draw is as follows;

17.10 David Miller (Duddingston) v Callum Kenneally (Dunbar)

17.20 Jack Collingswood (Tantallon) v Lee Morgan (Dunbar)

17.30 Barrie Lewis (West Lothian) v Andrew Benson (West Lothian)

17.40 Jamie Duguid (Dunbar) v Graham Robertson (Silverknowes)

17.50 Georgie Jackson (Turnhouse) v Michael Bacigalupo (Royal Musselburgh)

18.00 Jake Johnston (Kingsfield) v Mark Napier (Dundas Parks)

All Matchplay is once again at Duddingston and we thank the them for hosting the Championship this year.

The original Championship trophy has now been retired so the winner will have their name etched on the new trophy this year. Here is a photo of the new trophy which we think is an excellent replacement. Pictured here on the right is Executive member, Allyn Dick with the large old trophy when he won in 2021. The new Trophy is based on a replica and is half the size of the old one. Why not come along to the final and see the new one being presented to this years Lothians Champion golfer.
