Sivewright Quaich 2025 - Draw

The draw for the 2025 competition was made today at Blairgowrie GC with last year's winners Buckstone A, finding themselves an away tie to Observers, likely over the Craigmillar Park course. Stewarts Melville FP last years runners up, also were on the end of an away tie and probably face a stiff challenge from Riccarton, over the Baberton course.

The first round must be played by 1 June with each round thereafter four weeks apart.

The Sivewright Quaich was instigated by W A W Sivewright, one of a distinguished band of people who have been President of the Lothians Golf Association (1960-62) and of the Scottish Golf Union (1966-68). He also served as Secretary of the Lothians (1951-1958). The idea for the event was in response to an increase in the subscriptions, by the SGU, for what were called non-course owning clubs at the time. (Now known as Affiliates)

Bill's home course was Prestonfield, and we are extremely grateful to Prestonfield for their continued hosting of the Final of this competition each year.

The draw was made in the Clubhouse of Blairgowrie GC and we are grateful to Steve Bruce, Vice Captain of BGC and member Ron Whyte who are regular playing partners of the LGA Secretary and pictured below, Steve is on the left.
