Sam Hall (Gullane) proved too consistent for his opponent Ross Colquhoun (Kingsfield) in a thrilling final where both players had opportunities to lead and cement a place in history. Sam took an early lead winning three of the first four holes. However Ross wasn't going to let Sam win easily and fought back to be all square after eight holes. With holes being swapped Ross finished the 12th one up.
Sam won the 13th to take the match back to all square. Winning the 13th signalled Sam's sprint to the finishing line and an eagle at 15 and birdie at 16 saw him go two up. A par at 17 settled the championship which Sam winning 3&1.
