Scottish selection success for Lothians players

Following the announcement on 21 June of the teams to represent Scotland in the European Team Championships, Lothians Clubs have a number of players who have been selected for the forthcoming Championships all on the dates of 5 - 9 July 2022.

The Association are delighted for the players and we wish them all every success for their respective competitions.

Angus Carrick (Craigielaw) will be heading to Royal St George's GC in the European Mens Team Championship. Angus is a member of the Lothians team that had success at last years Scottish Area Team Championship.

Callum Kenneally (Dunbar), Oliver Mukherjee (Gullane) and Archie Finnie (Royal Burgess GS) head to Golf Club St Leon-Rot, Germany, this club hosted the Solhiem Cup in recent years and the boys will enjoy what is a great course for the European Boys Team Championship. All three boys at one stage or another have come through the Lothians Boys Coaching programme and we hope that they are all successful in their tournament.

Congratulations also go to the Midlothian County and East Lothians County Ladies Associations, who in Hannah Darling (Broomieknowe) and Grace Crawford (West Links) will represent Scotland in the European Ladies Team Championships at Conwy GC, Wales. And finally, to Freya Constable (Prestonfield) who has been selected for the European Girls Team at Oddur GC, Iceland.

When you look at this it is a measure of the strength of players playing in all categories across the Lothians and we hope that some silverware will be heading home to Scotland over that week.
