Lothians Team Tournament won by Dunbar GC

Following a few call offs leading up to the competition day, 47 teams took to the course for the first tournament of the Year at Craigmillar Park GC. It was a cool start to the day with temperatures heading down the way across the day. Scoring was as usual very competitive and the winning team held on by the skin of their teeth and secured the trophy on a nine hole count back. Dunbar were again triumphant and hold the trophy for the second consecutive year barring the missed year in 2020 due to COVID. Their score of 207 was the same as their opponents Mortonhall, but pipped them 104-105 on countback. Murrayfield were third, a further one shot behind (208). Congratulations to the winning team of Jamie Duguid, Grant Thomson and Connor Wilson who recorded the lowest individual score of 63 (-7) The magnificent Team Trophy Shield will be presented to the team at a later date.

The photograph shows the presentation of the Shield to the winning players and they were joined by Janette Main, the Dunbar Captain on the day.

In the Walker Trophy, the tournament for Affiliate Clubs, it was success for George Heriots FPGC on 219, who pipped their nearest rivals Hailes GC by one shot (220). Congratulations to the winning players, pictured here with John Archibald, the Club Captain of the Heriots team. The winning players were (L to R) Steven Sinclair, Elliot Innes, John Archibald (Capt) and Scott Johnston.
