Over the last 3 years we have become aware of an increasing number of Lothians clubs getting involved in the My Golf Rankings initiative devised by David Moir, a past SGL and Fife Area President and the person that pioneered the amateur world rankings for the R & A. My Golf Rankings is the handicap equivalent of the world rankings all-be-it on a limited geography so far. It is a free service that any club can join and as many as 43 Lothians clubs have been involved over the first few years. The system can tell a player how he or she stands, internationally, nationally and locally and it can tell clubs how their players' collective performance compares with other clubs.
This seemed to us a good way of getting some interaction going between our clubs and we have decided to award a My Golf ranking medal to the leading Lothians player and to the leading Lothians club. We are pleased to announce that Mark Dickson (Pumpherston) has won the 2020 individual medal and Linlithgow the club medal. Arrangements are in place to present the medal to this years winners and the necessary photographs will be posted as soon as possible.
If this is something you think your Club would like to get involved in then let your Club Secretary know. They can make arrangements to be involved this year.
