Westermont Golf Club was re-formed as a Club within Merchants of Edinburgh Golf Club in 2021, the LGA Centenary year.
It was originally formed in 1958 and ran for fifty years until it was disbanded in 2008.
During that time Westermont won the Dispatch Trophy 3 times (1969, 1989 & 2002 – the latter two times with the same team. The Club also won the Walker trophy twice - 1996 & 2002.

In the summer of 2021, Westermont was re-established and welcomed back into the Lothians Golf Association. The Club held two Medals at Merchants, a Club Championship and Outings to West Linton and Gullane.
The Club looks forward to participating in the Lothians Golf Association competitions.
Regular friendly matches were played against other similar Clubs in the Lothians in the past and the new Club arranged their first match against Colinton Mains in 2022 and are interested in adding others.
